I am so pleased to announce that we are now selling shares for our third season as a Community Supported Agriculture farm. This time of year is bursting with plans and seeds and longing for warm soil, and I hope you will join me in dreaming of green fields and delicious bounty by signing up early for a share!
Consistency Along with the high quality of our produce, our share pricing and sizes will remain constant this year, with the Harvest Share $350 (22 week season starts early June) and the Homestead Share $630 (26 week season starts mid-May). If you are new to the CSA, I recommend recruiting a neighbor or friend as a share partner, inviting them to split the harvest with you. The Harvest Share is meant to feed a couple or a family looking to add fresh vegetables to their diet, and is valued at between $15-$16 per week. The Homestead Share is for veggie lovers or large families used to cooking with fresh produce, and is valued between $24-$26 per week.
Variety We will be offering an Egg Share beginning Mid-June and running the length of the regular CSA season, mid-November. Details will be coming in a separate announcement. I will also be raising meat this year, and in the fall will have pastured chicken and goat available! As ever, I am also tweaking the veggie share to reflect customer feedback on favorite varieties and crops, trying to fill the shares with what people love and expect throughout the season.
I am offering a discount for members that sign up early. Members that sign up and send their deposit by February 14, 2014 will receive a 5% discount, making the Harvest Share $330 and the Homestead Share $600.
- Deposits for the Harvest Share are $150, with the remaining $200 due May 1 [$180 with 5% discount])
- Deposits for the Homestead Share are $215, with the remaining $415 due May 1 [$375 with 5% discount]
- NOTE: Full payment as early as you can swing it helps the farm buy all the necessary supplies, seeds, and equipment when it’s most needed, which is the beauty of the CSA model.
Share & Payment options: If you are interested in a workshare (trading labor for some or part of your payment), a payment plan, or a biweekly program, please let me know and we can work out the details.
Pick-up options: Pick up begins in the middle of May for Homestead Shares and beginning of June for Harvest Shares. Come to the farm for your pick-up and your share is 5% less. Carlisle pick-up will be Wednesdays at the Farmers on the Square market, Camp Hill Thursdays at the Farmers on Walnut market, and Gettysburg will be Tuesdays at the St. James Lutheran Church. We are also adding a Chambersburg pick-up this year, details TBA.
I look forward to hearing from you and hope that you stay warm and be well!
